Descripció
English: Demolição do Palácio Monroe.

O Palácio Monroe foi construído pelo engenheiro Francisco Marcelino de Souza Aguiar em 1904 e demolido em 1976.

O Senado funcionou no Palácio entre 1925 e 1960.

O Palácio Monroe localizava-se na Cinelândia, no centro do Rio de Janeiro. Durante as comemorações do primeiro centenário da independência, o Senado Federal passou a utilizar o Monroe como sua sede. Com a mudança do Distrito Federal para Brasília, em 1960, o Monroe passou a exercer a função de escritório de representação do Senado no Rio de Janeiro.
