Descripció
English: English credulity, or the invisible ghost
On the right, two children lie in a bed, at the head of which appears a ghostly figure brandishing a hammer. To the left of the bed, a cleric is looking up at a picture.
Data cap a 1762
date QS:P,+1762-00-00T00:00:00Z/9,P1480,Q5727902
Font Scan taken from Cock Lane Ghost, Grant (1965). This illustration appeared earlier in : George Paston [aka Emily Morse Symonds] (1905), Social Caricature in the Eighteenth Century... With over Two Hundred Illustrations, London.[1]
Autor Anonymous: The date Feb. 1762 is in the lower right, but there is no signature. Catalogue of prints and drawings in the British Museum suggests that the author might be one Golding. In any event, it is impossible for these artists to have lived beyond 1862.
