The BaBar Detector at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Facility. ELECTRON AND POSITRON COLLISIONS AND THEIR DECAY PRODUCTS INTERACT WITH THE LAYERED SUBSYSTEMS OF THE BABAR DETECTOR TO PROVIDE INFORMATION THAT COULD HELP PHYSICISTS LEARN ABOUT THE EARLIEST MOMENTS OF OUR UNIVERSE AND THE FUNDAMENTAL INTERACTIONS OF MATTER. THE BABAR DETECTOR, PART OF SLAC'S B FACTORY SYSTEM, WILL PRODUCE B AND ANTI-B MESONS, PARTICLE-ANTIPARTICLE PAIRS SO THAT SCIENTISTS CAN INVESTIGATE THE MATTER-ANTIMATTER ASYMMETRY IN NATURE.
