At first excuse me for the english language but I can only a little bit of catalan, but my question is, was Maillo a french-speaking man or spoke he catalan? --Berlinersorbenbayer

Catalan, sure. In a letter to a French friend he wrote in Catalan about Gerona: "Enlloc me sento tan a casa meva ni enlloc me sembla viure tan entre compatricis com quan me trobo a l'altra costat dels Pirineus." [1] --V.Riullop (parlem-ne) 14:25, 12 març 2008 (CET)

I have studied Maillol for my PhD project, on a Catalan sculptor working for him: Joaquim Claret. There is written correspondance in between both men, and it is half in Catalan and half in French.
