It should be mentioned that the Alcoy uprising was famously commented on in Friedrich Engels's account of the 1873 revolt, The Bakunists at Work (original title: Die Bakunisten an der Arbeit - Denkschrift über den Aufstand in Spanien im Sommer 1873).
