Discussió:Sébastien de Pontault de Beaulieu
I am currently also working on Sebastien de Pontault, Seigneur de Beaulieu.
While you state that Sebastien de Pontault was from Beaulieu-Le-Donjon, I actually found no existence of such a village or town in France. I found some archive from the XVIIth century mentioning that Sebastien de Pontault was living in "Le Donjon", which is a small town in the "Allier" Department (03). There should not be any confusion, as no other village/town is called "Le Donjon" in France.
When looking in the neighbourhood of "Le Donjon" on google maps, I found a small "Beaulieu", but rather closer to "Lapalisse" (also in Allier) than to Le Donjon, and this is already 21 km far from "Le Donjon", so that the term "Beaulieu-Le-Donjon", classically meaning Beaulieu in front of Donjon would not so easily apply.
So, what do you mean exactly by "Beaulieu-Le-Donjon" ? Where did you find this assumption ? Can you relate it to a French village ? Can you specify ?
Thanks,
