Mokulito
Mokulito is an alternative Japanese Printmaking technique based on the principles of Lithography.
It uses a wood matrix instead of a stone. One of the most remarkable things is that it is a non-toxic technique because it doesn't use any chemicals or solvents.
This technique was developed by professor Seishi Ozaku in Japan in the 1970’s, and it is based on the research of Alois Senefelder, who invented the Lithography in Germany in 1790. In 2014, polish artist Ewa Budka developed the standards of practice for Mokulito in a collaboration with Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, WA.
Since 2016, Ariadna Abadal Lloret is teaching Mokulito courses in Art Print Residence, a printmaking residency located in Arenys de Munt (Barcelona).
