One of the needs of mineral articles is to be able to illustrate them with an image. This is the list of minerals articles that do not have an image on wikipedia (in catalan).

But how can we get more images? We have two options:

• Taking photos. If you have access to minerals without photo on wikipedia you can take the photos yourself and upload them to wikimedia commons. If you've never done it before, you can use the wizard, it's really easy!
• Search for them on the Internet. As you already know, not all photos are useful: the image must have a suitable Creative Commons license.

Collaborations

Some photographers and/or mineralogists have decided to share their creations with wikipedia, publishing their work under a free license:

• Robert Lavinsky. The best-known case is Robert Lavinsky, who has donated his entire image database from mindat.org, as well as all his photographs from his own page irocks.com, totaling more than 50,000 images between the two. In thanks to his great mineralogical work a mineral species, the lavinskyite was named after him in 2002.
• All images created by Christian Rewitzer and published on Mindat may be used under Creative license Commons.

At the request of Yuanga, contributor to the Catalan Wikipedia (in alphabetical order):

• Anthony R. Kampf, curator emeritus of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, contributed the image of the andychristyite.
• Daisuke Nishio-Hamane, a Japanese researcher at the University of Tokyo, has released the rights to several images of the abramovite and the abuite.
• David Hospital, of "Purple Sky Minerals" is contributing by releasing the rights to several species photographed by himself.
• Fco. Javier Garcia Veigas, discoverer of the fontarnauite and author of the image that appears in the article, gave permission to use it.
• Henk Smeets, from Tomeik Minerals, publishing photos from his website under CC-BY 4.0 license.
• Joan Garcia has released all images from his website UXY Minerals to be freely used in Wikipedia articles.
• Joan Rosell, Catalan mineralogist and owner of Rosell Minerals has published the photos of his website and mindat under CC license.
• John Veevaert, of Trinity Mineral Company, released images of the menezesite and geologist Luiz Menezes for illustrating both articles.
• Matteo Chinellato, professional photographer, author of the photo of the first mineral discovered in Catalonia: the abellaite.
