Nomenclatura
Sinònims

Polynemus melanochir melanochir és una subespècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels polinèmids.[4] Pot arribar a fer 25 cm de llargària màxima.[5][6] És un peix d'aigua dolça i salabrosa, demersal i de clima tropical (24 °C-28 °C).[5][7] Es troba a Indonèsia[8][9] i la conca del riu Mekong al Vietnam.[10][5][11][12][13][14][15][16][17] És inofensiu per als humans i important com a aliment a nivell local en la seua àrea de distribució.[18][5]
